The San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have kicked off at Levi’s Stadium in a battle between two teams fighting for their divisions in the NFC. San Francisco is tied for first in the NFC West with the Seattle Seahawks while Tampa Bay trailed the New Orleans Saints by half a game entering late November. Brock Purdy had a bounce-back performance for the 49ers last week, completing 73% of his passes and throwing for three touchdowns (previously had three touchdowns and five interceptions in his prior three games). Baker Mayfield has thrown three straight games with multiple touchdown passes for the first time since 2021. 

This matchup involves the top-two receiving running backs this season in Christian McCaffrey (339) and Rachaad White (326). McCaffrey has 23 scrimmage touchdowns in 20 career games with the 49ers — the fourth-most in the first 20 games with a team in NFL history. The Buccaneers are struggling to run the football, even with White’s success, as they have rushed for an NFL low 3.1 yards per carry this year.
