Qatar Duty Free (QDF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Augusto Deymonnaz as its new Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Deymonnaz will be instrumental in developing and implementing QDF’s marketing and communication strategies, aligning them with the company’s brand vision to maintain its strong presence in the travel retail sector.
In his new role, Deymonnaz will focus on creative marketing, trade marketing, events and sponsorships, and corporate communications. His goal is to bring innovative marketing ideas and insights that enhance QDF’s visibility and engagement with customers, brand partners, and stakeholders.
Deymonnaz brings with him 16 years of experience in travel retail core marketing. He has held significant marketing management positions in retail organizations such as Avolta and Interbaires, operating in Switzerland and Argentina. His career has been marked by the successful development and execution of marketing strategies designed to elevate brands, drive strategic sponsorships, and implement promotions and tactical activations within travel retail environments.
Thabet Musleh, the newly appointed Chief Retail and Hospitality Officer for Qatar Airways Group, expressed his excitement about Deymonnaz joining the QDF leadership team. Musleh highlighted Deymonnaz’s strong background in retail marketing and communications, emphasizing the value his expertise will bring to the business. “I’m confident in Augusto’s leadership and ability to cement QDF’s status as a top industry leader,” Musleh stated.
QDF expects Deymonnaz to introduce fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to its marketing efforts, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of the travel retail sector. His leadership is anticipated to drive brand elevation and strategic partnerships, enhancing the overall passenger experience at QDF’s locations.
Deymonnaz joins a series of recent senior leadership appointments at Qatar Duty Free, including Przemyslaw Lesniak, Grant Fleming, Nuno Moreira, Stuart Barnard, and Garrett Coogan. These appointments reflect QDF’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team to support its ambitious growth and innovation strategies.
