“Let us begin today’s bulletin with news on actor James Franco. He had stepped away from acting after a series of sexual misconduct allegations and now will play one of the leads in the post-World War II drama ‘Me, You’. Tom Hollander and Daisy Jacob also round out the cast of the upcoming film, reported Variety.
Acclaimed Danish filmmaker Bille August, known for the Palme d’Or winning film The Best Intentions and 1997’s Les Miserables, will direct ‘Me, You’. At the peak of the #MeToo movement in 2018, Franco was accused of sexual misconduct by the students at his now-defunct acting school. The claims led to a lawsuit, which the actor settled in June 2021.

Seen tapping on Uri’s powerhouse character, the actor is seen packing punches and flying kicks. The video also had a secret code that fans have to decode to be a part of the premiere. “In other news, the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard libel trial, which generated intense interest for two months earlier this year is not fading away quietly.
Heard’s lawyers filed a 51-page motion asking Judge Penney Azcarate to set aside the jury’s verdict, which gave $10 million to Depp and $2 million to Heard on competing for defamation claims.
The motion cites multiple reasons that the verdict is untenable, from the surprising decision to declare both sides victorious to one extent or another, to a bizarre case of mistaken identity with one of the jurors. Its deduced by expert lawyers that they are skeptical that the confusion could result in a mistrial or the judge will set aside the verdict.”
“Meanwhile, Sam Taylor-Johnson, best known for Nowhere Boy and Fifty Shades of Grey, is set to direct a biopic about singer and close friend Amy Winehouse. European studio Studiocanal is producing the film titled Back to Black, which draws its name from the late singer’s multiple Grammy-winning studio album.
According to Variety, the script for the movie is complete and the project is now in the casting stages. Taylor-Johnson hopes to cast a relative newcomer to play Amy Winehouse in the film. The singer-songwriter, also known for the songs “Rehab” and “You Know I’m No Good”, died at the age of 27 due to accidental alcohol poisoning in 2011. Studiocanal is producing Back to Black with Owen and Hayward alongside Tracey Seaward.
