In today’s merch-obsessed world, there’s no limit to the creative ways in which you can rep your favorite artist, sports team or TV show. Just take one peek at Etsy.com and you’ll find thousands of phone cases, water bottles, candles, posters and t-shirts custom-made for every type of stan out there.
So if, say, a brand has the opportunity to tap into those fandoms with a demographic-merging collaboration, it would be foolish not to capitalize. Thus, the Hedley & Bennett x NFL collection was born.
The new collection, which dropped this week, includes a lineup of aprons and knives repping each of the 32 NFL teams. Each apron is a limited-edition version of Hedley’s signature Essential Apron (a “Top Chef” favorite), updated in different team colors and imprinted with the team name, logo and slogan.
The knives, special editions of Hedley’s Chef Knife, are more subtle. Each knife, crafted with premium three-layer Japanese steel and featuring an ergonomic black handle, features the team logo and “The NFL Collection” laser-engraved on the blade. Designed alongside professional chefs, the Chef Knife promises ultimate sharpness and precision thanks to sharp corrosion-resistant Japanese and German steel precision blades. Plus, its lightweight design and ergonomic grip help you stay in control of the knife as you chop, slice and peel.
The NFL collection is just the latest in a long line of successful partnerships from Hedley & Bennett. A “collaborations” tab on their website leads to dozens of collabs that cut a swath through every fandom — from the Grateful Dead and The Beatles to Star Wars and Disney.
