If you haven’t finished your holiday shopping yet, you’re not alone, as experts report that this weekend is expected to be one of the busiest times, as folks hurry to cross all the items off their lists.

They also say there’s no shortage on spending this holiday season, whether people are physically adding to their carts or doing so online.

“It’s been fairly busy today [Thursday]. I’ve been all over the place, Lexington, now over here,” said Carole Murphy about the shops on Harbison Blvd in Irmo.

She’s not the only one noticing hat people aren’t shying away from reaching for their wallets this holiday season.

The National Retail Federation (NRF) predicting record spending, with people on average spending more than $900 on holiday gifts.

“Business has been very steady, and a lot of customers are just really excited about getting gifts they need for their families,” said Store Manager for the Irmo Kohl’s Dylan Tippins.

Before this holiday season started, the NRF reported as many as 57% will shop online this year, while 46% will visit brick-and-mortar locations.

The NRF also predicts that buying blitzes will continue this weekend, with more than 157 million expected to shop this Saturday alone.
