By Grace Cyril: Hollywood legend Dick Van Dyke got into a car crash in Malibu. However, he managed to avoid serious injury, reports TMZ. He was driving his Lexus LS 500 in wet weather conditions when he lost control of his car. As a result, his vehicle skid and crashed into a gate.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that police responded to a call of a single-car accident on Wednesday morning, March 22. When the deputies arrived at the spot, they found Dick behind the wheel of a 2018 Lexus LS 500 which he had crashed into a gate.

TMZ further reported, “Our sources say the 97-year-old film and TV legend told cops his car slid and he lost control before slamming into the gate. The streets were wet from the nonstop rain L.A.’s been getting.”

Dick Van Dyke’s nose and mouth were bleeding after the accident. The paramedics treated him at the accident scene itself as he refused to go to the hospital. Meanwhile, according to reports, the police authorities have confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not the reason behind this accident. However, cops have submitted paperwork to the DMV requesting a driving retest for Dick, with one of the factors being his age, reports TMZ. Someone picked him up from the accident scene, so he didn’t have to drive home alone.
