The Kansas City Chiefs begin their preseason slate on Saturday, Aug. 10, against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chiefs will play three preseason games ahead of the 2024 NFL regular season, which gets underway for KC on Thursday, Sept. 5, against the Baltimore Ravens.
One question you might be wondering about ahead of Saturday’s game: Are preseason results an indicator of regular-season success?
In the previous six years, the Chiefs are 10-7 in preseason games, including three straight years of 2-1 or better. As Super Bowl champs the last two years, there could be a correlation.
But in 2019, when the Chiefs won their first Super Bowl, they went 1-3 in the preseason. (The NFL reduced the number of exhibition games from four to three in 2021.)
