John Paul Combs, 72, of Cottageville, WV, passed away Nov. 20, 2023, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 15, 1951, in Millwood, WV, a son of the late James Edgar and Kathryn (Farra) Combs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-sisters, Emma Jean Drennen and Norma Ruth Wetzel.
He was a graduate of Ravenswood High School Class of 1969. He had an Associate degree from WVU-Parkersburg. He was retired from Ames True Temper in Parkersburg and Constellium of Ravenswood. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Hunter and John of Ravenswood; brothers, Thomas W. (Grace) Combs of Cottageville, James C. (Anna Mae) Combs of Ravenswood; sisters, Karen Combs of Millwood and Kathryn Ann Combs of Millwood; half-brother, David C. Combs Sr. and his wife May of Vienna, WV; two granddaughters.
Service will be 1 p.m. Nov. 24, 2023, at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV. Burial will follow in Otterbein Cemetery, Evans, WV. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time-of-service Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to the Millwood U.M. Church Secretary, 314 Lower Log Lick Road, Cottageville, WV 25239.
