WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State men’s golf team is set to enter tournament play on Monday morning at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational, hosted by Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois at Gateway National Golf Links.
 
The Shockers enter the 2024-25 season eager to build off a strong finish to last year’s campaign, where they took third place as a team at the 2024 American Athletic Conference Championship. 

The Black and Yellow enter with a retooled roster after graduating four players from last year’s squad. Three reinforcements arrive in Wichita from Indian Hills Community College in Jose Miguel Ramirez, Jose Carletta, and Mitchell Revie, and a true freshman addition in Caden Cox.

Jose Carletta (Jr.) – Transfer from Indian Hills Community College…Won 2024 NJCAA Central District Champion by five strokes with eight-under (208) performance…Earned NJCAA All-American distinction with eighth-place finish at NJCAA National Championship in Hobbs, New Mexico…2024 NJCAA PING All-American Honorable Mention

Ty Adkins (So.) – Second year Shocker…Competed in two events as a freshman, both in the fall…Finished tied for 39th competing as an individual at the Big O Classic in Omaha, Neb.

Lucas Scheufler (Sr.) – Fourth year Shocker…Played in eight tournaments last year for Wichita State…Recorded hole-in-one during practice round of the 2024 American Championship..
