Thirsk betting tips

3.30: Candonomore 4/1 (1pt)

A very interesting two-year-old novice stakes at Thirsk with Zabriskie Point being the clear favourite in this six-runner race.

The Blue Point colt looked to be given a tough mark last time out but despite placing fourth, was giving weight away to all 13 rivals, including the subsequent Group 3 winner Starlust.

He’s shown he’s up to that level now whereas the others still have question marks about their ability, especially on what is soft ground today.

Though Candonomore has form on good to soft at York when placing a short head second on debut behind Loose Cannon back in July.

He’s not been seen since and that form does work out well and while given 6lb is too big a price not to back with the potential of this horse being much higher.

Worcester betting tips

2.05: Fringill Dike 1/1 (1pt)

Made a great impression on chase debut in May and followed that up with another win in late August at Uttoxeter, to make it two wins from two over fences.

Grand Roi is an intriguing contender close in the odds but is on such a losing run, running for the first time trainer James Owen since switching from Gordon Elliott, and all of that makes him difficult to back once more.

Glory And Honour made a great start to fences too and was only narrowly beaten by Guinness Affair last week but he reappears quickly once more after a very busy summer on the flat.

2.40: La Domaniale 7/1 each-way (1pt)

Better off in the weights now to Hang In There who won well at Stratford last time out, but La Domaniale looks a great each-way price now carrying 8lb less.

She’s gone well on good to soft before and shouldn’t be ruled out in this kind of field.

Kempton betting tips

7.00: Pons Aelius 7/2 (1pt)

Looks the most reliable in these conditions especially having won over course and distance before.

Study The Stars takes on 2m for the first time, Charles St finished far back on return to the flat in September and it’s difficult to tell how well he’ll do back on the all-weather.

Pons Aelius beat Mountain Road in June by over nine lengths and still looks a threat up just 1lb from that win.
