For the second year in a row, Nebraska is a blue state for women’s basketball.
No. 22 Creighton topped Nebraska 79-74 Sunday afternoon. The Huskers fall to 3-1 on the season.
The Bluejays came out on fire, making 6-of-8 3s to jump out 17-10. A 7-0 Nebraska run tied the game, but an 8-0 run gave CU the lead for good.
But Nebraska had its chances in the final minutes. Multiple times Nebraska got open looks from 3 that just missed the mark. Creighton made four free throws in the final 31 seconds to seal the victory.
Nebraska shot 44.8 percent for the game, not far off of Creighton’s 42.4 percent. The difference came in where those shots were taken, as the Blue Jays made 9-of-28 3s while Nebraska managed just 3-of-21.
Alexis Markowski scored a game-high 24 points, followed closely by Creighton’s Morgan Maly and Emma Ronsiek with 23 and 21, respectively. Darian White notched a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Nebraska heads to St. Petersburg, Florida, for the St. Pete Showcase over the holiday weekend. The Huskers play Lamar on Thanksgiving Day and TCU on Saturday.
It’s December, and Step One Automotive Group is definitely in the holiday spirit. The Florida-based dealership group has begun its 25 Days
