HOLLYWOOD, CA — A driver suspected of leaving the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian who was crossing Highland Avenue Sunday night has been arrested, the Los Angeles Police Department said Monday.
The pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was walking east across Highland near Fountain Avenue at around 10 p.m. when a vehicle headed south on Highland struck him, KTLA reported.
The man was declared dead at the scene. Authorities said he was not homeless, according to KTLA.

Police said the driver, whose name has not been released, fled the scene and was taken into custody shortly thereafter, KTLA reported.
