First-year Head Coach Rory Weinfurther will make her debut with nine of the 10 golfers on this year’s roster returning from the 2023-24 season. Morgan Gindler, Ella Overstreet, Pihla Pennanen, Kayla Sayyalinh and Kylee Vaughan will make the trip for the first tournament.
Sayyalinh led the Salukis at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships last season where she placed 17th and was the lone Saluki to shoot under 80 in all three rounds.
Pennanen is the lone freshman on the team. The Kerava, Finland native won the Global Junior Golf event in June with scores of 76-74-72 and finished sixth in the Finnish U21 Nationals. She ranked fourth in the Finnish Junior Amateur Rankings, and 2,794th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Monday’s forecast calls for a high of 84 degrees with partly cloudy skies and the potential for scattered thunderstorms in the early afternoon. Tuesday’s high is 80 degrees with a chance of rain and thunderstorms all day.
