Sarah Snyder, a 2013 graduate of Pitman High School, has punched her ticket to Hollywood after receiving three “Yes” votes on Monday night’s episode of “American Idol.” She is the second Turlock native to appear on the show since Ashlyn Rude in season 19 in 2021.
At a taped auditioning in Nashville in November, Snyder performed an original song titled “Wildflower” for the A-list judging panel consisting of Lionel Ritchie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. With the unanimous approval from the music superstars, Snyder received her golden ticket and secured a spot in season 21’s “Hollywood Week.”
“SURREAL doesn’t even begin to cover it,” Snyder wrote in a Facebook post. “Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan, singing for you three was a dream. Playing y’all my original song ‘Wildflower’ and hearing such praise and encouragement from some of the biggest artists in the world- there are no words!”
In Hollywood, Snyder and the rest of the remaining contestants will be mentored by returning show finalists Justin Guarini (season 1), Clay Aiken (season 2), Jordin Sparks (season 6), David Archuleta (season 7), Phillip Phillips (season 11), Catie Turner (season 16) and Noah Thompson (season 20).
Hollywood Week will air on Sunday and can be watched on ABC or Hulu Live. A recording of the episode will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
