Two Leland golf courses are under new ownership.
Heritage Golf Group is acquiring Compass Pointe Golf Club and Magnolia Greens Golf Club in Leland, the company said in a news release.
Heritage, a Virginia-based company, has acquired six other golf courses in 2024, bringing the group’s total to 41. The company owns two North Carolina courses at Cape Fear National and Brunswick Plantation Golf Club.
“We recognize that the Wilmington, North Carolina area is a rapidly growing market driven by an attractive lifestyle. We’re excited to further that momentum and expand our presence there,” said Andy Miller, a Founding Partner, and Chief Revenue Officer with Heritage Golf Group.
The courses were previously purchased by Renaissance Golf Group of Raleigh in 2018 for $2.97 million.
Compass Pointe, which recently opened a 15,000-square foot clubhouse, is a private club with an 18-hole championship course. The course is known as one of the most challenging in the Wilmington area.
Magnolia Greens is a semi-private club with a 27-hole championship course. The club has hosted many PGA Tour and USGA qualifying events.
The clubs will join the Heritage Plus Network, a group of courses that provides benefits and access to Heritage Golf Group members.
