WARREN — After two shootings in the city on Sunday, another shooting of a 19-year-old occurred Wednesday evening, according to a police report.
The Warren Police Department responded to a call for shots fired in the 1700 block of Youngstown Road SE and Woodbine Avenue around 7:30 p.m. that later led to one male having been hit, the report states. The condition of the victim, Kadin Lee Hillard, is unknown but he was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the shooting.
This marks the third shooting police have been investigating in the past week.
On Sunday, two victims, a 16-year-old boy and Elijah Turner, 18, ended up at Trumbull Regional Medical Center suffering from gunshot wounds, a report stated. A witness told police that two men were shooting in the 500 block of Southern Boulevard about 6 p.m.
About two-and-a-half hours later, police arrived at the scene of a downtown plaza Sunday evening where they thought a fight was occurring but instead found three people — two of them teens — had been shot, according to a police report.
The shootings happened about 8:30 p.m. in the area of the former Burger King restaurant near Main Avenue SW and South Street SW, just a few blocks from where the African American Achievers Association festival was taking place.
Victims included Ghian Mills, 19, who reports state suffered a major injury thought to be either a broken bone or an internal injury. Two juvenile boys, a 17-year-old and 16-year-old, also suffered similar injuries in the shooting.
