An NFC South clash kicks off the first of two “Monday Night Football” games in Week 2, with the Saints and Panthers set to face off tonight.
New Orleans enters Week 2 with a 1-0 record, coming off a 16-15 win against Tennessee. Derek Carr was steady in his first regular-season game with the Saints, throwing for 202 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Chris Olave picked up right where he left off last season, hauling in eight of his 10 targets for 112 yards. The Saints defense flexed its muscle as well, limiting Derrick Henry to just 63 yards, as the Titans running back averaged just 4.2 yards per carry.
For the Panthers, Bryce Young’s NFL debut could have certainly gone better, but the No. 1 pick showed promise in Carolina’s 24-10 loss to Atlanta in Week 1. The No. 1 pick in this year’s draft completed 20 of his 38 pass attempts for 146 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.
The Panthers entered the fourth quarter tied with their division foes before Atlanta struck for two touchdowns to pull ahead for the win. The Carolina defense struggled to contain the running back duo of Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson, who combined for 129 yards on the ground.
