At a certain point in the year, the various events that come together to form Award Show Season (or, as I like to think of it, Drink Wine and Ogle Celebrity Fashion Season) begin to blend together. (What are the WGAs, and how are they different from the DGAs and the PGAs?) Yet the Grammys stand alone as a night when you don’t only get to see your favorite singers be honored, but you also get to watch them perform, lending the night a special aura of excitement even for those of us watching from our couches.
The question of who will take the stage at Los Angeles’s Crypto.com Arena for the 2023 Grammy Awards has been hotly debated, but now we finally have an answer (or, at least, a partial one). It was announced on Wednesday that Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs, Steve Lacy, Lizzo, Kim Petras, and Sam Smith would all perform at the award show, which is scheduled to take place on February 5 starting at 8 p.m. EST.
Of course, a good Grammys night is nothing without a few surprises, so it’s entirely possible that the lineup will shift and more entertainers will be added to the performance docket over the next few weeks (see the full list of nominees here). One thing’s for sure, though: This year’s Grammys will rival the Rihanna-fronted Super Bowl halftime show for sheer musical entertainment value, so make sure to tune in.
