The favorites for the 2024 Olympic women’s golf tournament include defending champion Nelly Korda, who is also the World No. 1, and Lilia Vu, who of course won two majors in 2023.
Jin Young Ko, along with Brooke Henderson and Atthaya Thitikul, are also expected to deliver strong performances at Le Golf National.
Nelly Korda is rightfully the favorite for this week’s event, entering in a similar vein to Scottie Scheffler as the best player in the field who is also likely slightly disappointed to have only one major win in 2024.
But with the defending champ at odds of +450, we are looking further down the board for our three best bets, with players at odds of +1400, +1600 and +2500 highlighted below.
Canadian Brooke Henderson enters this week in strong form, with two top 10s in her last three starts. Plus, despite not having won a tournament in 2024, Henderson has finished in the top three on three occasions, highlighted by a T3 at the Chevron Championship.
This is the third Olympics that Henderson has competed at, and having finished T29 in Tokyo and T7 in Rio, the 26 year-old will be looking to add a gold medal to her incredibly impressive resume which includes 20 LPGA wins, including two major victories.
21 year-old Rose Zhang is the American we feel is presenting the most value this week, with the budding star looking to biuild on what has been a very strong start to her career.
Just two weeks into her professional career, Rose Zhang made history by winning the Mizuho Americas Open on June 4, 2023, becoming the first player to achieve a victory in her LPGA Tour debut since 1951. She triumphed with a score of 70-69-66-74=279 (−9) after a playoff against Jennifer Kupcho.
More recently, on May 12, 2024, Zhang claimed her second victory at the Cognizant Founders Cup with a score of −24, finishing two strokes ahead of Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom.
In her most recent start at the CPKC Women’s Open, Zhang finished T6, meaning she should be peaking at the right time to challenge for a medal.
Australian Hannah Green comes into this week at odds of +2500, with the goal of improving on a strong 5th-place finish at the Tokyo games.
Green is currently third in the Race to CME Globe (the season-long leaderboard of the LPGA), having already won twice on tour in 2024, taking her career tally to five on the LPGA Tour.
The world number six has made the cut in each of her last eight starts, with a win at the JM Eagle LA Championship and a second at the Mizuho Americas Open the highlights of late.
At odds of +2600 to win and +450 for a top-five finish, the 27 year-old looks prime to bet on this week.
As the 2024 Olympic women’s golf tournament unfolds, our best bets are on Brooke Henderson, Rose Zhang, and Hannah Green to make a strong impact at Le Golf National.
With such a competitive field, American fans will be hoping that Zhang, or one of the other top American talents, can make it two-for-two in the golf at the Olympics.
