Adorned in political flags, banners and campaign signs — on Saturday a parade of golf carts rolled out across The Villages of Florida to support former President Donald Trump’s bid for the presidency.
And despite most of Florida being under a state of emergency due to an approaching tropical storm, the turnout was reportedly large.

“There are around 1,000 carts here right now and the mood is electric,” Valerie Jamieson, co-president of The Villages MAGA Club, told GulfLive just before the parade’s 1 p.m. start.
Jamieson said she even spotted U.S. Rep. Daniel Webster, R-Fla. among the crowd.
Last weekend a golf cart parade supporting Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign drew hundreds of residents in the predominantly conservative retirement community.
Nearly 70% of registered voters in Sumter County, which a portion of The Villages is located in, vote for the Republican party and Trump was the first sitting U.S. president to visit The Villages twice.
