College football is right around the corner, and with it will come the return of 2025 NFL mock drafts. And for the Cleveland Browns, they will have their first first round pick in three years after the trade for quarterback Deshaun Watson. Could they use it on the likes of Texas A&M pass rusher Nic Scourton?
That’s exactly what they did in the latest mock draft done by our friends over at Draft Wire. Picking 17th overall (preseason draft order is typically set by betting odds to win the Super Bowl), the Browns dipped in and drafted their heir apparent to veteran Za’Darius Smith.
Scourton, who transferred from Purdue to Texas A&M is a top-shelf pass rusher. And with Smith and Alex Wright entering the last years of their deals in 2025, there is reason to think the Browns could prioritize a pass rusher. Just 19 years old, the 6-foot-4 and 280-pound pass rusher racked up 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss a year ago for the Boilermakers.
If he does that again in the SEC, go ahead and lock in Scourton as a top-20 pick.
