As Kentucky men’s tennis continues to build its roster for next spring, Canadian player Eric Crivei joins the program, officially signing his letter of intent on Thursday.
Crivei comes to Lexington from Ontario, Canada. There, he’s put together quite a successful junior career. Crivei earned a career-high Canadian junior ranking of eight, finished in sixth place at the 2023 Canadian U18 Indoor Nationals, and made it to the quarterfinals for singles and doubles at the 2024 Canadian U18 Indoor Nationals.
He currently holds an International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior ranking of 737. His experiences in highly competitive matches will surely propel him into just as much success at Kentucky.
Kentucky goes into the 2024-25 season looking to defend its Regular Season and SEC Tournament titles. Kentucky rides on a three-year streak appearing at the NCAA Quarterfinals.
“We are excited that Eric is joining us,” head coach Cedric Kauffmann said, per UK Athletics. “Eric is a worker with a great mentality and a lot of potential. We are ready to get to work with him.”
