Penn State was expected to get an official visit from five-star prospect Immanuel Iheanacho. On Tuesday, that became official, as the Maryland native announced via social media that he’s locked in a date with James Franklin and the Nittany Lion coaching staff for June 13-15.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 350 pounds, Iheanacho is one of the most coveted prospects in the entire country. On3 currently rates him as the fifth-best prospect in the class, while the Industry Rankings have him as high as No. 2 overall.

Just last week, the Georgetown Prep prospect included the Nittany Lions among his Top 11. The other 10 schools were Oregon, Georgia,  Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, Maryland, Florida, Miami, Auburn and Tennessee.

He then informed On3 at Nike’s ‘The Next Ones’ event in New Orleans during Super Bowl weekend that Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, Oregon and Penn State were in the best position to receive official visits. Georgia is already locked in for May 30 to June 1.

Before that, he also told On3’s Steve Wiltfong that Oregon is currently the team to beat, while both Georgia and Penn State are also at the top of his list.

iheanacho is now the 11th offensive lineman to set an official visit with Penn State. Gregory Patrick, Marky Walbridge and Roseby Lubintus are all set to visit from May 30 to June 1.

Two weeks later, June 13-15, is expected to be deep with offensive line prospects, as Iheanacho will join Johnnie Jones Jr., Drew Evers, Carter Scruggs, Adam Guthrie, Bryce Gilmore and Tavian Branch that weekend. Virginia native Darius Gray also plans to squeeze in a midweek official visit June 17-19.

Iheanacho impresses at Under Armour AA Bowl

For the first time ever, both the Under Armour All-Amircan Game and the Navy All-American Bowl invited Class of 2026 prospects to also participate in the annual high school all-state games. Iheanacho attended the game and didn’t disappoint.

“Iheanacho came into Under Armour All-America week as one of the younger, more inexperienced prospects in the entire event,” national scout Cody Belleaire wrote about the Penn State prospect. “Despite the youth and lack of experience, he never looked like a fish out of water. 

“The Five-Star Plus+ prospect started off strong on Day 1 of practice flashing great hand usage and balance in pass protection during the 1-on-1 period. On Day 2, he showed off his power and strength in the run game by moving defenders off the ball during inside run and team periods. Iheanacho still has some rawness to his technical rawness game, but the physical and athletic tools that he displayed throughout the week point to a very high ceiling when projecting to next level and beyond.”
