The Ministry of Education and Higher Education will participate on Tuesday in the activities of Qatars National Sports Day (NSD) by setting up a dedicated center at the Old Doha Port Park to welcome all school students, their parents, ministry employees, and the public wishing to participate. The event will take place from 7:00am to 2:00pm.
Head of the Physical Education Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Salman Al Hazmi explained that the Ministrys participation in National Sports Day is part of its commitment to promoting a culture of healthy lifestyle and enhancing community responsibility, particularly among the elderly, to maintain their health and improve their physical fitness.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education is keen to provide an environment that allows students to engage in team sports alongside their families and form sports teams that help boost their self-confidence, in addition to offering a comprehensive sports experience that combines entertainment and benefit.
On this occasion, the Ministry will organize a complete program of sports activities, recreational competitions, and competitive events suitable for different age groups. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage in various physical exercises, and try archery, table tennis, badminton, foosball, football shooting, gymnastics, kite flying, and cycling. They will also have the chance to undergo biometric health checks.
Additionally, recreational competitions will be held for students with disabilities, tailored to their abilities and needs. Boy Scouts will present special performances for the occasion, while a number of students will showcase their martial arts skills in self-defense disciplines such as karate and taekwondo, in an interactive atmosphere full of excitement and enthusiasm.
As part of the National Sports Day activities, the final of the Private Schools Championship will take place at the Palestinian School from 9:00am to 11:00am. The event will also include a ceremony to honor the winners, celebrating their achievements in an atmosphere that reflects the spirit of sportsmanship and creativity among the students.
