The San Francisco 49ers were among several teams that met with Washington wide receiver Jeremiah Hunter at the Tropical Bowl last month, according to the draft prospect.

“I had a sit-down meeting with the Titans,” Hunter recently told Justin Melo of The Draft Network. “I also met with the Patriots, Raiders, 49ers, and the Texans. I met with the Packers, Ravens, and Steelers as well. I had a virtual meeting with the Seahawks.”

The 49ers are expected to bolster their wide receiver group this offseason, and the 2025 NFL Draft could provide a chance to add fresh, talented youth to the position. Brandon Aiyuk is recovering from an ACL injury, and Deebo Samuel has requested a trade, making his return in 2025 unlikely.

Hunter (6-2, 200) spent three seasons with the California Golden Bears before transferring to the Washington Huskies. This past season, he recorded 36 catches for 490 yards and one touchdown. In his final season with the Golden Bears, he had 63 receptions for 731 yards and seven touchdowns.

Over four collegiate seasons, Hunter has recorded 180 receptions for 2,574 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging 14.3 yards per catch.

Melo asked Hunter what he believes he showed to scouts at the Tropical Bowl.

“I proved that I’m a football player at the end of the day,” Hunter responded. “I’m a wide receiver who can do it all, who can run all the routes. I make contested catches on film. I thrive in jump-ball situations. I can run a lot of routes and do a little different things for the offense. I’ve shown that on tape, and at the Tropical Bowl.”

Hunter added, “If you watch my film, my contested-catch ability is definitely what stands out. I’m a deep-ball threat, a jump-ball receiver. I really run routes, man. I feel like I can do it all on offense. I’m still trying to put great stuff on film. That’s something I’m going to continue showcasing when I get to my next destination.”
