Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic will be facing each other for the seventh time (tied 3-3).
The two have split their last four meetings, though Alcaraz has won the most important matches recently, including the 2024 Wimbledon final, where he defeated Djokovic in straight sets.
The 21-year-old has been dominant this year, hoping to become the second player to win the French Open, Wimbledon, and an Olympic gold medal in the same year (Rafael Nadal, 2008).
Meanwhile, Djokovic’s year has been shaky—at least by his historic standards.
For the first time since 2017, the Serbian has failed to win a Grand Slam title through the year’s first three majors.
Alcaraz is currently in better form, and Djokovic will have to rise to the physical occasion if he hopes to win.
However, considering what’s at stake for the 37-year-old, this should make for a quite competitive match.
