Wyoming High School Football
Dubois football player Siler Hess has signed with Chadron State and the Eagles are getting a solid all-around athlete. Hess was an All-State pick in 1A 6-Man football with 90 tackles on defense, 51 of them solo with 9 blocked punts and 4 fumble recoveries. Hess saw action on offense at the quarterback spot throwing for 444 yards and 7 touchdowns, 3 rushing scores, and also caught 19 balls with one TD.
In his junior season with the Rams, Hess was an All-Conference performer with an astounding 117 tackles on defense, 43 solo, with 11 blocked punts, 2 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries. He threw 3 TD passes for a predominantly running team and had 1 rushing touchdown.
Hess also has made for himself in wrestling with a 5th place finish at the Big Ron Thon Tournament in Riverton earlier this month at 215 pounds. He placed 6th at the 2023 2A State Wrestling Tournament at 175 pounds with a record of 26-17 and qualified for State in 2022 at 152 pounds, going 1-2 with a record of 29-18.
Hess also competes on the Rams track and field team in the jumping events. At the 2023 State Outdoor Track Meet in Casper. he placed 4th in the 1A High Jump at 5-6, 5th in the triple jump at 40-7, and 11th in both the long jump and the pole vault.
Chadron State is a Division II school that competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
