The Israel Defense Force has accused another “journalist working for Al Jazeera,” of doubling his role. Mohamed Washah reportedly made several appearances on the media outlet’s broadcasts, and works as a Hamas Commander “in the evening,” according to the IDF spokesman for the Arab media, Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee.
The Palestinian journalist has indeed featured in several of Al Jazeera’s programs in the recent past. He also reported live from campsites at Khan Younis in the Strip. The IDF allegations against Washah for being part of the terror outfit’s active military wing are based on some images and documents recovered in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on X, the IDF Arabic language spokesperson wrote, “In the morning, a journalist on the #الجزيرة channel, and in the evening, a terrorist in Hamas!” He also went on to tag Al Jazeera Arabic with the original post written in the Arabic language.
The IDF spokesperson further claimed that Washah, born in 1986 from Bureij, is a “prominent commander” in the “anti-armor missile system in the wing of the Hamas military.” At the end of 2022, he moved to work in the field of research and development in the Hamas Air Force, Lt. Col Adraee added.
Not much is known about Washah’s personal life. However, IDF asserted that its intelligence investigation conducted on the computer revealed images linking the person called Muhammad Washah to activities within Hamas.
