Kalen DeBoer has brought aboard another former staffer with whom he worked at Washington.
Tyler Hughes is now listed as a football analyst in the Alabama football staff directory. He worked in quality control for the offense at Washington under DeBoer in 2023 before coaching the New England Patriots wide receivers under Jerod Mayo in 2024.
Prior to his time in Washington, Hughes spent time with the New England Patriots from 2020 to 2023. Other stops include serving as a head coach of a high school football team after he also was the head coach at Minot State University and Snow College. Hughes was also a quality control assistant at Ohio State during the 2013 season.
Hughes will reunite with Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb as well as assistants Nick Sheridan, JaMarcus Shephard, Chuck Morrell, analyst Mitch Dahlen, as well as general manager Courtney Morgan, among other staff members.
