OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) firefighters were not able to save the driver of a garbage truck that went off-road and crashed into the wall outside Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club Monday morning.
According to MCFR, a 911 caller reported a dump truck had run off the road at the intersection of Northwest 77th Avenue Road and Northwest 70th Avenue Road near the golf course.
Citizens and paramedics tried to make their way to the driver, according to MCFR, but unfortunately, the male driver was declared deceased on the scene.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
