With 53-player rosters and practice squads formed across the NFL as Week 1 of the regular season approaches, Jacksonville’s ranking atop the league in offseason spending has been finalized.
The Jaguars spent over $100 million more than the team with the next-most expenditures, with the majority of Jacksonville’s money going to contract extensions, nearly $554 million, also leading the NFL.
In fact, the Jaguars inked two of the league’s six largest extensions this offseason, with quarterback Trevor Lawrence signing for $275 million and edge rusher Joshua Hines-Allen inking for $141.3 million, each over five years.
“We said from the get-go, from when we first got here, that signing the core players — that had to be our focus,” Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke said in August.
“We were fortunate enough to get some big deals done this summer with some guys that we believe are foundational pieces on both sides of the ball.”
Find below how much Jacksonville and every NFL team spent on player contracts this offseason, ranked from most to least.
All figures per Spotrac, calculated by the total value of every contract.
