The field is rounding into form for the 2024 Cincinnati Open and will include some of the biggest names in men’s and women’s tennis.
It will also include a pair of Cincinnati natives looking to make noise in their hometown tournaments. Both J.J. Wolf and Peyton Stearns are very familiar with the Lindner Family Tennis Center and are bidding at deeper runs this time around.
Here’s when you can catch them in action.

Given a main wild card draw into the Cincinnati Open, Stearns (World No. 53) opens the tournament against World No. 40 Paula Badosa of Spain on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Stearns is not in Cincinnati yet as the 22-year-old will face World No. 6 Jessica Pegula in the Canadian Open quarterfinals Saturday night.
Stearns is just a few months removed from capturing her first career WTA singles title in the Morocco Open in Rabat. Stearns has never made it past the Round of 64 on the singles side of the Cincinnati Open but reached the Round of 16 last year in doubles.
Wolf will try to battle his way into the main draw after receiving a qualifying wild card spot. Wolf will start qualifying play on either Sunday or Monday against Nuno Borges (No. 43).
Wolf is 2-9 in singles matches this season and made the second round of the singles draw at the Citi Open in Washington, D.C. last month. He’s searching for his first main draw victory in Cincinnati.
Caty McNally will not play in the Cincinnati Open for the second consecutive season. The 22-year-old Madeira native underwent elbow surgery earlier this year at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
McNally was a qualifier for the Cincinnati Open last summer after reaching a pair of WTA 125 finals (including a Dow Tennis Classic title) and a top 30 ranking. She withdrew from Cincinnati with elbow trouble.
McNally has participated in a few events this year since playing at Wimbledon in July 2023.
